The Use of ChatGPT and A.I. in Article Creation The Use of ChatGPT and A.I. in Article Creation

AI and ChatGPT can be used for article and blog creation, and following we have set out how we use it for one of our clients, Solo Resource Recovery.

Step 1: Article Title

First, we require suggestions for an article title.

We visit the website: https://chat.openai.com/

And including a specific pre-determined keyword, which in this case is bulk waste haulage, we enter the prompt in ChatGPT:

Suggest to me 5 article titles based on the words: bulk waste haulage

After which, ChatGPT will return 5 article title suggestions. These will give us a direction for the article, though these title’s usually require some crafting, and occasionally, none of the suggestions are suitable, and we have to re-generate the prompt.

In this case one of the answers we received was:

Economic and Environmental Impacts of Bulk Waste Haulage: A Holistic Analysis

which we re-wrote as:

The Economic And Environmental Advantages Of Bulk Waste Haulage

Step 2: Article Creation

Next, we need to create the article itself.

As these articles are for SEO purposes, they have specific requirements, including the addition of several pre-determined keywords, along with a minimum article length or word count, which in this case is 800 words.

We continue on in ChatGPT, and utilising the article title that we previously created, we enter the following prompt:

Write me an article on the subject: The Economic And Environmental Advantages Of Bulk Waste Haulage. Written in formal Australian business language. Include the words: bulk waste collection, bulk waste haulage, waste management. The article has to be 950 words long or more.

After which, ChatGPT will generate a suggested article.

Step 3: Article Finessing And ChatGPT

At this point in time ChatGPT still produces some inconsistencies which Iwe will highlight following, and as such, currently anything that it does produces requires some finessing.

In this case, the first issue is that the reply that ChatGPT produced from the previous prompt was only 508 words long, despite our request for it to be 950 words long.

There are several ways to address this particular issue. One is to ask it to expand upon the article, by following up immediately in ChatGPT with a prompt such as: The article is too short. It needs to be 900 words long. Please expand upon this.

Another way is to add more keywords to the prompt, which needs to be undertaken with caution, for SEO reasons.

To achieve the stated aims, after making the aforementioned adjustments, a new prompt can be entered into ChatGPT, such as:

Write me an article on the subject: The Economic And Environmental Advantages Of Bulk Waste Haulage. Written in formal Australian business language. Include the words: bulk waste collection, bulk waste haulage, construction waste, recycling, waste management. The article has to be 950 words long or more.

After this latest prompt ChatGPT produced a 750 word response, which was still shorter in length than was required, but through experience, we knew that we could reach the required minimum word count for the article, being 800 words, by manually rewriting the article.

Additionally, currently there are several other issues with the ChatGPT produced content which will need to be corrected during the article creation process, such as the use of American spelling, i.e. “z’s” instead of “s’s”, even though we specified that any answer generated needed to use Australian spelling, and also a tendency for ChatGPT to use hyperbolic language in its generated replies, which an average human would not use.

After the above have been undertaken we consider the ChatGPT part of this article creation to be complete. There are more steps that are required, including rewriting, editing, content arranging, proofreading, and plagiarism checking, before the article is considered fully complete, and forwarded onwards to the appropriate person.

AI And ChatGPT In Conclusion

In conclusion, currently ChatGPT and AI tools in general are useful for some specific tasks, though they are a work in progress, and require human intervention for the best results, in our opinion.
